I want to start a webblog?

What do I need in order to create a blog. I don't want to go through blogger but instead I would like to buy a book that guides me through a process

  1. Get a URL and build yourself a website. There are books and classes on building websites. You can also use existing software.
  2. i suggest u start up by reading blogs, similar 2 the topics u plan 2 blog about. that will give u a god idea about how thinks go about also dnt reveal ut true identity on the net if ur entries are sensitive, bcus u never know whose goan read all that happy bloging ;)

Well Blogger is the easiest.. but for DIY (Do it yourself Appraoch) look at WordPress , basically you need the following: 1. a Domain name (! $9 USD) 2. a web hosting company that offers Mysql database and PHP ($40/yr or less) 3. Install the software (Like Wordpress) , many hosting companies come with packages that install blogging software for you.. Good Luck!
  4. hi, A few more tips about that: - I would recommend not buildling a homepage, even not a simple one. since today many services like yahoo host your blog for free and provide very easy interface to edit them. you can take a look at blog.360.yahoo.com www.blogger.com or just google for "open a blog" (just tried). - I do recommend keeping your identity secret and keeping identifying details (like places, names) out of your blog. don't forget that everyone in the internet have access to this information. even if you remove your blog, some of the text may remain stored in all kind of places (search engines, caching services) - third and last - go ahead and do it - jump to the cold water and start swimming.   6. You can search your local bookstore, or amazon.com for some, do a Google search or you can go to http://www.wordpress.com and start one for free. I use it, a lot of people use it and it is a great start to learn how to blog so if later down the road you do want to spend money to get your own domain and hosting space, you can do that and know how to.
